Egg Summit which was organized first time by Egg Producers Association in Antalya between 31 October-3 November 2013 gathered many industrial partners.
Egg producers, breeders, companies which produce and import animal health products met in Antalya.
After the opening speech of Derya Pala, CEO of Yum-Bir, Dr. Hüseyin Sungur, General Secretary of Yum-Bir, informed about the egg production and export of Turkiye. Some data from Hüseyin Sungur’s presentation:
Today there are 1050 enterprices and 3243 layer houses in egg industry in Turkiye. The amount of the commercial layers is 70 millions. Turkiye ranked tenth in world’s egg production with 15,6 billions eggs in 2012. The biggest egg exporter is The Netherlands in 2012, Turkiye is the second.
Prof. Dr. Hans W. Windhorst from the University of Vechta in Germany mentioned the egg production and trading in the world.During the summit it was given many presentations by many valuable specialists.
The Board Member of Visad İsmail Özdemir mentioned the last situation of animal health sector with numbers. He stated that the biggest problem of poultry industry in Turkiye is biosecurity and the rate of health products in animal husbandry is only 2-2.5%.
Prof.Dr.Ali Atıf Bir emphasized the importance of the advertisements and branding on egg.
Prof.Dr.Cihat Kütük talked about organic fertilizers.
Ayla Küçük mentioned the evaluation of environmental impacts of poultry.
Dilara Koçak said that there must be egg in diets certainly.
Prof.Dr.Mustafa Tayar made a good presentation about the place of egg in nutrition.
The sessions ended with the presentation of Prof.Dr.Sebahat Bayram Kök about effective communication and leadership.
