Mixture for poultry based on calcium and vitamin D3

Intra Calferol is a pH neutral product with very stable vitamin D3 properties. This is important because vitamin D3 is an unstable vitamin that is crucial in the absorption of calcium in the body of poultry. A vitamin D3 deficiency will cause the body to deplete the bones (the calcium store in the body) of calcium, so the condition of the bones will deteriorate.

In practice poultry is often found to suffer from vitamin D3 deficiency. This is because vitamin D3 is added to the feed and is inactivated by all kinds of elements in and around the feed. For example, the addition of organic acids to the feed has a negative effect on the stability of the vitamin and factors such as heat also have a negative effect on the stability of vitamin D3.

Intra Calferol is a mixture of concentrated calcium in organic form, vitamin D3 and chelated magnesium, which may easily be absorbed in the animals’ intestines. This supplement keeps the animal’s calcium balance in optimal condition.

Intra Calferol

  • Provides poultry with elements necessary for an optimal calcium balance
  • Easily absorbable
  • pH neutral and therefore supplies stable vitamin D3

Bone condition

One of the most important functions of vitamin D3 is maintaining the calcium balance in the body by promoting calcium absorption in the animal’s intestines. A vitamin D3 deficiency results in demineralisation of the bones and a poorer condition of the bones.

Immune system

Vitamin D3 also promotes increased activity of natural antibodies in blood and activation of phagocytes and macrophages forming the natural immunity of the animal in the blood. Promoting their activity reduces the risk of bacteria, viruses and fungi infecting the animal.

The egg shell

The egg shell consists of a special mineral structure, which protects it from external influences. The egg shell consists of an inner and outer cuticle and the outer shell. The outer shell consists of a special mineralised structure containing more than 90% calcium in the form of calcium carbonate. Calcium is absorbed in the animal’s intestine. Its absorption is regulated by vitamin D3 and magnesium, among others. Intra Calferol ensures that sufficient calcium is present. In addition, the vitamin D3 ensures that this calcium may also be easily absorbed.
